A Nurse's Guide to Puberty Education for Special Needs

In-Service Training supporting the Puberty Education for Students with Special Needs Series (Coming soon!)

This new teaching aid is an easy way to introduce school nurses and teachers to the most effective way to use this series. Presented by school nurses, Barbara Rybolt and Debbie Sokoloff, the symposium involves case studies, hands-on activities, and effective techniques for teaching human sexuality education to students with special needs. Debbie and Barb discuss how to adapt the curriculum for different levels of ability while teaching students about their changing bodies and about appropriate private and public behaviors. They present ways to engage administrators, teachers and parents in creating a common language and set of expectations. Developed specifically for school nurses, sessions were presented to the California School Nurses 57th Annual Conference, Santa Clara, February 2007 and the Los Angeles Unified School District Opening Day Meeting and Educational Symposium of District Nursing Services, September 2007.

Now this helpful symposium can be yours to present in your school district through this special DVD presentation. Use it as a valuable tool to share with parents. Includes public performance rights.
